So, I'm like a lot of people, I like rock and metal, not really country or classical, maybe a bit of jazz, etc. oh and I love bass!

I like loud music that isn't too loud. I don't even know what I just said =P

Would you recommend:

Harmon Kardon Sounds Sticks 3 (and subwoofer)

or

Bose Companion 5 (and subwoofer, I believe it has one...?)

Help?

So the Bose C5 are USB, the HK SS3 are 3.5mm...I'm ok with that

Harmon Kardon Sounds Sticks 3 bass controls are mounted on the subwoofer itself and the translucent lighting might be a novelty at first but could get annoying.

BOSE make some visually appealing products but the price tag for the performance is ridiculous. All the reviews ive seen pretty much sum the same thing.

Logitech make good speakers, would suggest them above either.

I have the Bose Companion speakers. They definitely maintain the standard for sound quality. If you have the cash, I'd go for the Bose. The previous poster isn't wrong in suggesting Logitech speakers though. They're a little cheaper in quality, but the sound is still very good and obviously the price point is much more appealing than Bose's prices.
