Updated BIOS driver--now it will not boot

I updated BIOS driver-now the ASUS Q550LF will not boot. When starting up, the ASUS logo comes up and I can enter BIOS. When letting it boot normally, the top left corner shows a little white bar which flashes twice. Then it goes to a black screen, still powered on, and does nothing.

Solution
Somewhere in the BIOS if it supports UEFI and secureboot. You'll have to go thru the menus

Under save and exit whats it on under boot override? Looks like secure boot is under security

Hi Paul- do not have manual with me. Boot configuration is fine. Hard drive IS selected as the bootdisc. Does disabling the logo in the BIOS help the situation?

Hey Jaguar im replying to your post because i was just doing a google search and came across another post by you about getting your asus q500lf screen replaced.

Luckily i see you've been active here within the last couple of days and im just curious how getting ur screen fixed went for you as my asus screen of the same model is cracked. I've contacted Asus and been quoted the $100 range for a repair, but i see after you sent it in they tried to charge you much more which is what im afraid of!

I dont have the money for that so i am very stressed out. Any insight would be appreciated. Also wondering if you could relay the model # of the touch screen so i can look i to replacements without having to take it apart now as it still works but as i said needs to be repaired as the touchscreen feature does not.

Sorry to intrude on your thread with an off topic subject but would really appreciate details in regards to how things worked out for you?

ASUS wanted to charge close to $400 regardless of the chat which stated $127 "or close to that". DO not mess with ASUS. Had them send it back un-repaired. Found nothing online as to how to replace the screen for this model. Found one place online that happened to have a full screen assembly with hinges for about $90. It was listed for the ASUS N440JV laptop. Once finally received laptop back from ASUS, I figured out how to replace the screen assembly based on how the old one that was "hanging" on. Once I installed the new screen assembly, I removed the BEZEL (clear hard plastic cover over the screen--not easy to remove the bezel from the screen--have to wedge it out) FROM THE OLD cracked screen--and the actual screen was fine. It was only the bezel that was cracked. I will probably sell the screen itself. Suggestion would be--look for the screen assembly online (may not be available). Look for the full screen assembly for the Q550LF OR the N440JV (which is compatible). I'd suggest a DIY repair if you find a screen assembly. Just be sure to also purchase the torques T5 tiny screw driver for the bottom lid. Rest takes a small Phillips head once inside.

I tried loading in the latest BIOS driver update from ASUS and it keeps telling me the update is too old. That may be because I already updated the BIOS early today, which is when the original problem started and it would not boot. So it is seeing that an update was done (this morning) and anything else is considered too old.
Tried to downgrade using C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\WinFlash, and that also did not work. Nothing seems to work and it is stuck in a BIOS upgrade that will not allow me to boot up.

I went into Easy flash armed with a FAT32 flash drive plugged in with the latest driver, did not solve the no-boot issue. Don't forget just about all I can even access is BIOS as my laptop won't boot up.
here's the basic issue i believe is causing this entire problem:

Flashed new BIOS driver
Messed up my system from booting for whatever reasons...
Now, I'd like to add an older BIOS driver that works for me to get my system up and running again
Easy Flash tells me the (older) driver is too old

Know a way to get Easy Flash to flash to an older BIOS driver?

I'm pretty sure 215 is the one currently flashed. the "latest" driver it lists on asus website didn't work, Quick Flash or whatever its called told me that the model didn't match.....if you download that latest driver it'll say N550LF when my computer is a Q550LF
