Hello, This is my first time using this website and I wold like for someone to build me a pc for gaming. I want to be able to run BF4 on high to ultra settings and get 60+ fps on recently released games. I have currently been gaming on my laptop on lowest settings and barely getting 30fps. I don't know if an additional fan is required or if the case comes with those so if someone could clarify that. I would like to take the leap into hardcore pc gaming with an actual desktop and I want to join the pc master race. Thanks a lot!
Some of my requirements

  • At least 8GB of RAM
    An Nvidia graphics card
AN I7 processor is preferred although if you think an i5 would be a smarter choice, it's up to you
    1TB hard drive
(keyboard, mouse, monitor and Windows 8.1 and possibly a headset must be included in the final price)
I don't have enough room for a full tower case so please choose something more compact

We're about $40 over budget. An i7 on that budget while getting peripherals is out of the question unfortunately. The only reason we're $40 over budget, is because a GTX 750Ti SC won't provide the performance you're looking for. Actually, a 760 is even sitting on the lower end now. You'd also be kind of CPU bound in some games, like BF4 and Skyrim. But here's what I came up with

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-4440 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor ($169.99 @ Amazon)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus 76.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($19.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: MSI H81M-P33 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($48.99 @ Mwave)...

This is the best build i can give at your budget the gtx 970 will give you ultimate gaming performance in ultra settings with any modern games and upcomming games.
(Upcoming assassins creed unity have given their requirement and the minimum requirement for GPU is gtx 680 and recommended is gtx 780 so if you want to play at ultra then gtx 970 will be best for you.)
