Hello, everyone! I hope you can help me. :)

I just scored a Dell XPS 710 cheap. Now I can brag that I used to be such a hardcore gamer that I blew 5 grand on this beast of a machine when it came out seven years ago!

Unfortunately, it's MISSING THE HARD DRIVE! :kaola:

I put a blank 500gb drive in there, but I now need to install some version of Windows.

However, I can't get anything to display on my monitor. :(

The computer powers on, and I hear a few beeps, and it bathes the room in menacing red light, but the monitor stays blank and goes into sleep mode. I've tried two different monitors and two different monitor cables with the same results. The computer has a GeForce 8800 GTX graphics card with dual DVI ports (I've tried both ports), but I imagine that it needs the correct drivers to work. The computer has no onboard graphics port that I can find. Below is a pic of the back.

Am I doing something wrong? Any tips on how to get the monitor to work so I can do the OS installation? Maybe I need to use another computer for the installation, then move the drive to this computer??

As you can tell, I've never done this before. :??:

Ultimately, I'd like to get it up and running so I can sell it on ebay or craigslist. Any ideas on what I might be able to get for this old beast?

Thanks for your help, guys and gals! :D

Best,
James

Solution
When there is no display, that can happen due to loose RAM. Check your RAM to make sure it is in correctly.

Secondly, make sure the PSU is connected to EVERYWHERE it needs to be. Look up a pc build guide and see if the Power Supply is connected to every component.

Lastly, watch a PC build video to see if all of your components are in right.

That is all I myself can recommend.
