ok the last great game i played was probably cod wow or moha airborne those games are really dam good.i remember so many games that were based on history like Man of Valor or Battlefield vietnam and they were fun.
the thing is i dont have anything against modern shoters but why just scrap the history based games like ww1 ww2 vietnam gulf war, they could make so many good games and not sci-fi bulshit.
That is just my opinion

Part of the problem was that everyone kind of got burned out on WWII games, as they were the dominant shooters for years before CoD: Modern Warfare happened. By 2008, most of the WWII shooters simply weren't selling anymore, with the only successful one that year being CoD: World at War. The only two Modern Military shooter franchises that are still selling well are CoD and Battlefield, and even they are starting to see a sales decline, so now they are trying to go for the Futuristic Military Shooter so their games feel fresh again.

Unfortunately, the industry seems to just follow the lead of the CoD franchise when it comes to shooters, so expect tons of futuristic shooters until people get tired of that in a few years, then maybe the CoD franchise might go back to basics and give a historical setting a try again.
