Fan speed maximum

So i just put together my first pc today and i loaded up the bios (no OS yet) and my fans speeds were at max speeds and its really getting to me. Im using and asus m5a97 r2.0 mobo so can someone please tell me how to lower the fan speeds. They do not need to be that high. At 6000 rpm.

no probably not. i wouldnt update your bios unless you really know what youre doing.

case fans im assuming? are they 3 or 4 pin case fans? if they are only 3 pin then you will not be able to change their speed within the bios. you need 4 pin pwm fans for that

Yeah they are 3 pin fans. Will they ever slow down when i update the bios and install the OS? I turned the pc back on and only one fan was ramped up to max and the others including cpu fan were a lil over 1000 rpms
