Hi guys,

I recently installed an SSD and i went into the BIOS to check the boot options, and it shows as follows

P0: UEFI SAMSUNG 840
P1: SAMSUNG 840.

When I try to boot from SAMSUNG 840 it doesn't boot at all...It only boots from the UEFI version...What does this mean?

I had another SSD before this and it never had UEFI as another option...

It means the OS was installed on a system that supports UEFI. And the first option works because thats what it was installed on and its got a GPT partition on it.

The other one doesnt which is why it doesnt boot. Look in Google or Wikipedia what GPT / UEFI means. Its too hard to explain

The other SSD may not have been on a system that supported UEFI

That's the thing...It was installed on the exact same system with the exact same windows disc. It was a crucial mx 100 SSD.

Should I be worried about this or is it completely fine?

Oh ok.
I read somewhere that AHCI is recommended to be enabled with SSD's.

Just to clarify:
Is it a good thing that I have this UEFI SAMSUNG option instead of the normal one? Or does it not matter at all?

As Paul NZ said, it's your only option and aside from that, yes, it's fine and is standard configuration.
