So here is the gist of my situation: I have an asus vivobook x202e and I like to listen to music, but in the past I have found a need to use my microphone, but my computer recognizes the earbuds but not the microphone, so it wont have any microphone feed. Is there any way I can either put the preference to my computer microphone or have the microphone on my earbuds work. P.S. I have tried with both apple earbuds and skullcandy earbuds and neither work.

The computer should output sound to your earbuds when plugged into the headphone jack. The computer can't use your ear bud's microphone as it's only plugged into the headphone jack. I don't know if the microphone works when plugged into microphone jack. Since the microphone earbuds aren't detected, it should use your default microphone.

Try going into Sound then Recording Devices (something like that) and see if your laptop's microphone is detected. Make sure it's set as 'Default Device' and 'Default Communication Devce'. I don't see any reason for it not to work.
