So about a week ago I was playing WoW and it started acting up. It was freezing every couple of seconds for a short amount of time and i didnt know how to fix it. So i thought maybe it had to do with my HDD so i looked into fixing it. My other hd was working fine with wow but then i realized a sudden problem. My hdd was not there. So i went in computer management and rescanned for my disk. It came up fine as usual and i jsut continued looking for my Wow problem and then i realize it disconnected again. This problem kept occuring and i cant keep it connected long enough to do anything. So earlier like 20 min ago i came home from buying a 1 TB drive because i thoguht the other was broken. My computer found it, and i set it up and everything was fine. So i started copying some files over and it disconnected...again.... Does anyone know what may be happening? Any help is appreciated!

Hey Heiwa. I recommend that you scan the drive with the manufacturer's diagnostic software to see if it finds any errors with the drive. Also you could try switching SATA cables, because the connection might have become faulty. When you say "it disconnected again" while you were transferring data, do you mean the new drive or the old one? You could also try to update the firmware of the old HDD that keeps disconnecting to see if that helps you with your issue.

Hope that helps.

So Boogie is the almighty fix to this problem for myself along with everyone else. I had my sata power cables split between the 2. All i did was switch my 1 tb drive sata power cable with another i had available. There are a lot of people with this problem. Boogie, The almighty savior. Thanks!!
