Hi there.
My dad's Windows 7 HP Laptop key board stopped working when I was surfing the Internet. This is the built in keyboard and the second problem to happen while I was using it(the laptop itself). I am posting from my mom's computer with a fully functional keyboard. HELP ME ASAP!

Solution
plug in a usb keyboard if it works..power off the laptop and then take the battery out. if the unit out of warranty check that the keyboard cable is locked in. if it is on the underside of the keyboard is a service part number order a new unit they run about 30.00 online for hp keyboard. if the unit is out of warranty if it in warranty time to send the unit in for repair.

It is the literal keyboard on the laptop. There is not a cord that could be locked in.....it's the literally attached keyboard on a laptop that runs Windows 7 Starter. It was a custom order with Starter as the OS of choice.
