If the pentium is a place holder then that is the only good reason i can think of .

Only in certain games. The i3 will DOUBLE the Pentium's performance in games like Watchdogs. Watchdogs is almost unplayable due to how badly it stutters with a Pentium even when HIGHLY overclocked.
