Computer dies immediately on start up....even after rebuilding most of it.

When I went to turn on my computer it lit up and then died immediately. As in the lights flashed and that was it. No beep no anything just a brief flash of light.

Upgraded the PSU massively, bought a very new motherboard, replaced and upgraded Ram. Also purchased new CPU upgraded that as well.

New build, does the exact same thing. Disconnected all hard drives and cd junk. Still the same thing. New motherboard has it's own power button on the board tried that. Same thing.

Each death requires me to turn off the actual PSU and then restart it to get my computer to flash lights and go out again. Tomorrow I'll take the whole thing out of the case hook it up and try that. I have no idea.

Solution
Yeah for things like this where there are no error codes or anything other than "it doesn't work" doing a full tear down is usually best. Do the bare minimum and then build from there. Since your case may be a factor do the initial build outside the case (on a static mat if you have one). Once you have a working build then worry about stuffing it all in the case.
Best thing to try in this case is to pull the motherboard off and look to see if you might have an extra standoff under the board from your previous build.

Pull it apart and reassemble it outside the case (put the motherboard on top of its own box if you need to put in a video card) and see if you run in to the same issues.

It's not just that though......my previous build started this problem lol. That's what I'll be doing much later today/tomorrow I guess though.

If the motherboard is new, the PSU is new and everything else is disconnected, then literally the only two things it could be are the wall socket or your case.

Given the fact that the new motherboard and new PSU are behaving exactly the same as the previous units, I find it highly unlikely that the issue lies with the motherboard, unless perhaps the new motherboard is the exact same brand, model and from the exact same batch, which I also doubt. As for parts dying for no good reason, I've been building PC's for near on 20 years and there is literally nothing that surprises me anymore :)

LMAO! Here's to hoping it's just a motherboard standoff causing a short. Actually, OP, you should probably have a good look through all your connections, plugs, wires etc to make sure that there are no breaks, loose parts or any small bits of loose metal touching the motherboard.
