Hello,

I am running Windows server 2012.
When I start the computer up, it loads the bios, but after the windows logo the screen goes blank.
I am able to start in safe mode with networking. I have checked the event log which reports "DCOM got error "1084" attempting to start the service ShellHWDetection with arguments "Unavailable" in order to run the server: {DD522ACC-F821-461A-A407-50B198B896DC}"
I have tried disabling all start up services that safe mode has stopped but it does not help.
I have also done chkdsk which reported no errors.
How should I proceed?

Thanks

Hi Paul,

The event log reports "DCOM got error "1084" attempting to start the service ShellHWDetection with arguments "Unavailable" in order to run the server: {DD522ACC-F821-461A-A407-50B198B896DC}" when I boot up.
I have scanned with anti virus software and chkdsk which reports no problems.

Thanks
