First time build. I've got a half-decent, old monitor that will do the trick for now, a mouse (though it's pretty crap) and a keyboard.

This is what I've got so far, but it's definitely above $1000. Any suggestions/improvements would be super appreciated - I'm really keen to make my first PC :)

GPU - R9 280 - 3GB - $245
RAM – Samsung DDR3 4GB - $43 x 2
Mouse – Logitech G502 - $59
Processor - Intel Core i5 4690 3.5GHz 6MB - $254
Case – Thermaltake A21 - $74
PSU – Thermaltake 650W - $90
Cooler – Hyper-212 EVO - $37
HDD – 1TB - $62
SSD – Sandisk Ultra Plus 128GB - $64
Motherboard – Intel H7 - $79

No thats just what I'm thinking of getting at the moment. Though I've just been told "Mediocre PSU with a high price tag, you also don't need that much power. One of the EVGA 500W models would be sufficient."
