I was browsing through my local shop, and noticed that Sony Xperia is 54% cheaper at the moment. It used to cost 810$ and it costs 360$ now. Any ideas why would that be? What is considered normal price for xperia Z anyway?

On the other hand, LG G3 costs ~550$, so it's roughly 200$ difference between it and xperia. If I decide to buy one of them, is it worth paying 200$ more to get G3?

What are the main differences between xperia Z and G3 (aside G3 being newer)?

Thanks

Xperia Z is waterproof and has a more durable design. But the Xperia Z is also a older device (2012 i belive) and it will probably not get the Android L.
The biggest downside of Xperia is in my opinion it's EXTREMELY quiet speaker, you can't even hear it ring when someone is calling you.

G3 is better, xperia is very good so if you want to buy a smartphone for 360 dollars go for the Xperia, if you want a 2014 flagship then take the G3

G3...best phone on the market. Period. Whoever said LG was a "lame brand for a smartphone" is obviously an idiot. Sony would be more so...appropriately called. Wait..weren't they Sony-Ericsson at one point? Oh yeah, not anymore.

Wow name calling. Very mature. And obviously never used any phones other than LG.
LG lame for reasons:
- Caught in the rain with that phone? Be ready to replace it
- Plenty Google Apps don't support it
- Sound quality still behind Sony and HTC
- Design? Fake metal. HTC still better
- I could go on with the display (only ok if you never use your phone outside), the camera etc

I did not recommend Xperia Z as well because it is better to throw a bit more money in to get the later version. And what is wrong with Sony Ericsson? Ericsson was a well know brand before taken over by Sony.
