Hello everyone!

Yesterday I've installed Windows 8.1 on my PC everything went fine until I didn't reached the part when I have to install the graphics driver. I have an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4300 Series card, but I totally unable to find a driver what works with windows 8.1. I know that the card is compatible with this OS but there is no driver for HD4300 series+windows 8.1, I spent hours with searching for one but sadly I could not found a working one. Also the "AMD AutoDetect" can not identify my OS. In the device manager under the Grapihics Cards I can find the following: "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4300 Series (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM v1.1)" I tried to uninstall this driver then install AMD's but no luck. I've also tired every sites, every downloadable driver but none of them worked.

OS: Windows 8.1 32-bit
Graphics Card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4300 Series
RAM: 4GB
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3700+

Any help will be very welcome!
Thanks in advance,
James Morgen

what driver version did you install? 14.9? your gpu is already on legacy status which means driver support is extremely limited. though im not sure, you should probably install a driver from 2010 at max. anything newer is probably not supported. idk if old drivers will provide win 8.1 support too. probably not.

that "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4300 Series (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM v1.1)" is the best driver already.. dont bother searching for alternative.. it just wont make a difference in performance..

Regarding the GPU drivers with windows 8.1, you should first uninstall the drivers that windows installs by itself. Then try to install the HD 4300 series. I had this problem before. That was the solution. Might or might not work for you.

Unless your desktop is using a laptop derivative motherboard, you shouldn't be using "Mobility Drivers". If this is a system you built yourself, what motherboard did you use? If this is a system you purchased from a store, who manufactured it and what model number is it?

Well, First thank you nagypistike for your idea I will try it when I get home :)
Wolfshadw, No it isnt safe to say I think. Aida64 says that I have "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 (M92)" graphics card.
Do you think that it changes the situation?

Well then I'm more confused than before. The specs for your motherboard state you have an integrated NVidia graphics solution, so I have no idea how an AMD driver successfully installed, let alone an AMD Mobility driver.

If you're not running a discrete graphics card and you're 100% positive the motherboard I linked is your motherboard, then you should be running NVidia drivers, not AMD Drivers.

Yes u linked the right motherboard that's 100%. So NVidia drivers? o_O I don't understand that because I used AMD drivers for this card since I have it. My CPU is also AMD but my chipset is NVidia, the soundcard is a C-MEDIA. So I think my PC is an AMD based computer, isn't it?
Correct me if I'm wrong!
