Why is my new PC build turning off when installing Windows 8? Doesn't in UEFI/BIOS.

I could really use some help on this. I just built my PC, it turns on fine and enters UEFI with no problems. But when I try to install Windows 8, it shuts itself down. The farthest I've gotten it to go before shutting down is entering the Windows 8 product key.

Whats strange is that its fine in UEFI. I left it on the UEFI screen for 20min and it didn't shut down. Its only when I try to install Windows that it shuts down.

I thought it might be something overheating, but when I left it in UEFI it said the CPU never got above 39 degrees celsius, and the motherboard never got above 30 celsius. Just for reference, the room temp was 70 degrees fahrenheit.

Any idea where I should start to determine the problem?

Here are my specs:

-Motherboard: ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0.
-CPU: AMD FX-8350 Vishera.
-GPU: Sapphire Radeon R9 270X 2gb.
-RAM: G-Skill Sniper Series16gb (2 x 8).
-HDD: WD Black Series 7200RPM 3TB.
-SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 128GB SATA III.
-Heatsink: Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo.
-Thermal paste: Arctic Silver 5 (applied in "grain of rice" method).
-Optical drive: Blu-Ray Reader.
-Case: NZXT Phantom 410.
-PSU: Rosewill Hive 650.

Thanks.

Disconnect the hard drive [ just the power will do ]
have the SSD plugged in to SATA port with the lowest number . Usually 0 , but maybe 1
Enter BIOS and choose AHCI mode for the hard drive , and check that the SSD is there
Set the DVD as first boot device

Set an XMP profile for the RAM . The lowest frequency and 1.5 volts option . You can change this later
Save the settings

Run the windows disk again .
Make sure you are not connected to a router

still the same problem?

It was already set to AHCI and the HDD was unplugged, but changing the SSD to port 1 got me all the way through the windows install.
However, after I installed windows and left it at the desktop screen for a few minutes, it shut down again. I turned it back on and made sure it hadn't just done that because of windows settings. A little bit later, it shut down again. This time my motherboard isn't showing any power going to it (i.e. led power indicator on motherboard is off).

I checked all the power cables to make sure they were in tight and I switched the power on the PSU on and off. Still no power to motherboard. Do you think my PSU is defective?

Yep. I asked Rosewill through Newegg to replace it under warranty. Working fine now, so it was just a faulty PSU. I tested this by using a PSU power tester (which showed no power).
