Built my pc. http:// + some case fans i bought after. i connect it to a tv for my display.

worked fine for 3 months or so. one day it wouldn't turn on. no fans start up. nothing at all.

checked to make sure everything is plugged in correctly, including power connectors. then i tried to start it up without my graphics card in the pci-e slot. it does start up (fans spinning). tried the GPU in the other available pci-e slot. nothing again.

when i do try to start it up with the GPU in there is a brief short noise that i can barely hear and the fans on the power supply look like they try to move but nothing ends up running.

what i am wondering is, which is the cause of this? a dead graphics card? or a faulty psu? also is my power supply adequate for the other components of the system?

thanks for any replies. its such a bummer to see my system sitting around doing nothing :(

for that GPU and that CPU, 550W is a bit scarce. try a more powerful PSU, like 700W. hopefully nothing has been broken.

You may want to go to best buy or something and buy one a try it. if it works, you can return it and buy online, if not, just return it.
