So my boyfriend just got a new computer yesterday, and he can't get it to connect to the internet at all, wired or wireless or anything. Every other desktop and laptop in the house connects with no issues, even the new laptop we also acquired yesterday. We aren't positive whether the desktop has a wireless card or not, but we did try hard wiring the computer to the router, and it connects but says that it has limited or no connection, and won't do anything on the internet. He's tried downloading a few different drivers, and none of them have fixed the issue. Can anyone help us figure this out?

Solution
you need to access the control panel first. assuming you are using windows 8, from the right side of the screen swipe left to bring up the mini info tab. right click on your internet info which should give you the option to access the internet controls. once you have accessed the internet options you will want to click the option that will disable the network adapter. after it indicates it has been deactivated, try activating it again. most of the time this will correct the issue. though it is possible it may happen again. please post the results of this action.
