computer starts, 5 sec later restarts and wont boot bios

Hi, I just changed my cpu from i72600 to a i5 3570k
i have a asus p8p67 motherboard.
after i changed my cpu, i have a red led light on mobo.
my comp starts and after 5 sec, it restarts but no bios or anything on the screen.

the new cpu has 5 less pins then the older mb hopefully you have not shorted the cpu or the mb out. you need a z87 or z98 mb with that cpu. the cpu that you removed has 1155 pins the new cpu has 1150 pins.

^ He has a 3570k, both 1155 socket cpus. Why would you change from a 2600 to a 3570k the i7 is just as strong it was a pointless upgrade. WHy did you change the i7, put it back in and see if it works

Smorizio made a mistake, we don't normally see people going from an 1155 socket cpu to another, especially when you have an i7 already. Put the i7 back in and see if it works

you may need to update your cpu code. also check with the mb vendor to see if the new cpu is supported.
