So I have my gaming PC all ready and I've been installing drivers.

Now comes the hard part: mobo drivers.

Keep in mind that this is my first build ever.

So I downloaded the latest BIOS and I have an executable and I've now learned the manual way of doing it.

Should I install it directly from Windows or get through the hassle of installing from a flash drive?

There's nothing hard about installing the motherboard drivers, but that has nothing to do with updating the BIOS.
The former is necessary and generally hassle-free, whereas the latter is only necessary if the existing BIOS version doesn't support the CPU or if it lacks a feature that you need. It also has the potential to cripple your PC so should only be attempted when it's absolutely necessary (ie for the reasons given above).

If your rig is already booting in to Windows without any issues, just install the drivers but leave the BIOS alone.

It's a misconception to believe that you must always have the latest driver or BIOS version - - not so.

Unless you NEED to update BIOS to fix something, it's best just to leave it and not risk bricking the motherboard. If I need to update BIOS I'll go the flash drive route: too many things going on in Windows that could cause a crash during the update and brick it.
