Hi guys, I've seen this question asked here before but I didn't get the answers I need from those posts so...
I'll be buying a custom PC in the coming weeks for music production... I will primarily using it for electronic music, and partly for my own vocals and keyboard. I am buying a USB MIDI keyboard and a USB mic, so I don't need any fancy connections for these, nor do I need them for the Rokit RP5s? (correct me if I'm wrong here).
So to the question, I have read so much about onboard soundcards vs external ones (audio interfaces) and i am completely bamboozled... I was planning on get a ~£100 internal soundcard instead of an external interface as I won't be needing the extra connections you get with them... I've read all sorts about low latency and PCI connections and can't make sense of most of it... so, will a fairly expensive soundcard suffice for my needs or should I go external?
1 more thing, on the PC Specialist site, their audio production setups just use onboard 5.1 sound... so do I even need either an internal or external card at all?
I'm not sure if I've missed anything,.. but just ask if you need any more info.
Thanks guys!
