Troubleshooting DVD burning/reading issue:

Would burning a DVD at high speeds cause problems where it could be read on one PC but not the other?

The DVD is showing completely blank on some PC's but works totally fine on others. This problem is very sporadic.

Solution
You can occasionally get issues with older drives having issues with discs that were burned very quickly. Sensor degradation is usually the cause.

What format and disc type are you talking about?

DVD+R, DVD-R, DLDVD+R, DLDVD-R?

ISO, NRG, IMG? Bootable? Finalized?

Not every drive is made equal, some older ones may not understand what they are looking at if you don't finalize them. And some may not be able to read the discs due to the burnt parts being too small (Modern burning optics/sensors)

Its DVD-R finalized. I slowed the burn speed down but still the same issue, one computer shows the DVD as blank, the other shows the files....

Is DVD-R typically causing problems with some drives? Maybe cheap media? or some drives dont play nice with DVD-r?

It all depends on the exact drive. I have had almost zero issues with DVD+R vs DVD-R but all the drives that receive my discs were a maximum of 4 years old. (Our new machines don't even have drives)

You might see if there is a firmware update for that disc drive. That can sometimes add capabilities or fix strange issues.

But more likely then not you are looking at replacing the drive to have it be able to read what you are making.
