Will my PC run Dragon Age Inquisition

Hi Guys,

This is the specs of my PC:
Intel G3258 processor, MSI R9 270 2GB GPU, 8 GB RAM and a MSI Z97 PC Mate motherboard. I haven't Overclocked the CPU yet. I got the CPU + Motherboard for $90 on a combo deal and I thought I'd invest on a better CPU sometime in the future. Also I haven't bought a CPU cooler either.

I intend to play Dragon Age Inquisition once it releases, and I don't mind if it doesn't work at high settings, But I want to be able to play it at at least medium level graphics and have it run smoothly.

Would the specs of my PC allow me to play the game? I'm worried the CPU won't be upto the mark, and might give me a problem! Would I have to invest on a new CPU? Or would Overclocking the CPU, and getting a cooler help?

Here are the specs for the game:
Minimum:
OS: Windows 7 or 8.1 64-bit
Processor (AMD): Quad core @ 2.5 GHz
Processor (Intel): Quad core @ 2.0 GHz
Memory: 4 GB
Graphics Card (AMD): Radeon HD 4870
Graphics Card (NVIDIA): GeForce 8800 GT
Graphics Memory: 512 MB
Hard Drive: 26 GB
Sound: DirectX 10

Recommended:
OS: Windows 7 or 8.1 64-bit
Processor (AMD): Six core @ 3.2 GHz
Processor (Intel): Quad core @ 3.0 GHz
Memory: 8 GB
Graphics Card (AMD): Radeon HD 7870 or R9 270
Graphics Card (NVIDIA): GeForce GTX 660
Graphics Memory: 2 GB
Hard Drive: 26 GB
Sound: DirectX 11

If u can Oc it to 4.5 you can get by this game i saw some benchmarks on tweak town against a 4790k and it isn't bad for a dual core. If it was me ill keep it for now n later on upgrade to i5-4690K or better for future games. For cpu bound games it will be fine but gpu intensive games it wont be able to keep up.The rest of your specs are fine it's just your cpu.Try to upgrade for the best experience.

I'd need a cooler wouldn't I? Would the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 or ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 be good enough? Or would I need a liquid cooled cooler?

I dnt have much experience ocing intel cpus but since the base clock of your cpu is 3.2 to go 4.5 id say it needs watercooling.I played dragon age 1 & 2 in my old athlon dualcore with my old 6870 i always got over 60 fps on dragon age 1 but on dragon age 2 had to lower down settings to high to get 45-50 fps.

Yeah, Maybe I should do that. My main worry is that the processor has only 2 cores.

Hello! Hijacking the topic for a question :smileyhappy: Since I am still not sure if the black screens at the main menu are the issue of the game itself or just mine computer, I was wondering about an upgrade. Unfortunately I don't know that much about specs *sighs*, so I was hoping someone could tell me if this PC would be enough to run DA:I:

Intel® Core™ i5-4440 processor 3.1 GHz

8GB DDR3 Memory

Windows 8.1, 64 bit

NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX745 Graphics with 4GB of Discrete Video Memory

Thank you!

You should have a CPU cooler no matter what. CPU's get really hot, really fast. Liquid coolers are nice, and you can find some relatively cheap. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181043

I have the black screen problem too! Shockingly the game works fine on my laptop, which has an i5-3210M processor and and AMD GPU.

I need to get a new processor too for my PC i think looking at how things are going. Even though the G3258 is a better CPU than the i5 3210M.. The 4 cores seem to be the difference! The game sucks on the laptop though, have to play it on ultra low! lol
