Ever since i took out a few screws in the motherboard of my computer(HP compaq dc7900 small form factor) and pulled out a part so i could fit in a graphics card, the LAN(by ethernet) will not work.

I have a Belkin N+ wireless router model F5D8235-4 v1(ports on back allow ethernet cables to be attached)
Intel 82567lm-3 adapter(came connected on motherboard)
Windows 7 Professional (fresh install)

Connected devices:

1 pc(the not working one)
1 or 2 laptops
2 tablets
2 or 3 phones
1 xbox 360

What part did you pull out? Was it a PCI, PCIe X1 PCIe X16 card? Was it a PCI network card, or something else? The screws you pulled out, were they motherboard mounting screws or were they holding in/down/together?

I don't see how that could affect it, unless it was on and running when you pulled it out. Go into your Network and Sharing Center, top left and click the Change Adapter Settings. That will list you physical and wireless connections, Right click on your wired connection and click Disable. Once isn't disabled, right click on it again and click Enable. If it doesn't reconnect after that, go to the Start menu and Right click on Computer and select Manage in the list. From there, click on Device Manager and select the Network Adapters, Right click on your Network Adapters and make sure your drivers are up to date.
Also, from the Network Connections page, right click on the connection and select Diagnose This Connection.

If that's not it, then switch out LAN cables, power cycle your router (give it at least 10-30 seconds being powered off). Try hooking up another computer to the router via LAN cable and see if it has connectivity so you know your router and LAN cable are good, then you can eliminate that from the equation..

Looking back at the pictures, I see the lights on the LAN connection are on, so if the router is good and you've tried everything else and you get nothing, It looks like you have a PCIx1 slot and maybe a regular PCI slot open, if so order a network card from Newegg, I've had good luck with these

The second link is out of stock, but you can easily find one from other stores doing a Google search.
Hope this helps.

Tried everything accept for buying the parts to no avail. I verified the cable and router were working fine by connecting it to my brother's laptop. When i did the diagnostics, it says that ""Local Area Connection" does not have a valid IP address"
