My rig:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P
CPU: AMD FX-8350
Memory: Mushkin Redline Enhanced 1866 8GB (2 x 4GB)
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 3GB
PSU: SeaSonic M12II 850 SS-850AM 850W
SSD: Samsung 840 Evo 120GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB
Case: Rosewill Challenger Mid-Tower

I recently upgraded my CPU from an FX-6300 to an FX-8350 and my PSU to from a Corsair TX Series 650W to a SeaSonic M12II 850 SS-850AM 850W (wanted extra wattage for an R9 290X that I am installing soon). Nothing else was changed.

Before the upgrade, my system booted and ran just fine with RAM at 1866Mhz with stock DRAM voltage and timings.

After the upgrade, my system will not boot with RAM at 1866. A message appears prompting me to either boot with optimized defaults or enter the BIOS. It will not boot when I put it at 1600 either, only at 1333.

As recommended by various other internet sources such as this, I slightly upped the DRAM voltage and NB frequency but it still fails to boot. Any ideas on what is happening here? Why would changing my CPU and PSU prevent my system from booting with RAM at 1866MHz? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Solution
Changing the cpu has an effect on the OS,,

Its still loading the the old settings..

If you're using win8 reset your OS
If win 7 you will need to reinstall
