Hi all,

I'm currently trying to decide between a widescreen monitor for gaming or the Asus ROG Swift here

Anyway I was just wondering if 2 gtx 980s in sli would power 3 of these beasts in surround?

Solution
In terms of what you need to run Surround, a single card will do it.
However performance in this situation would not be ideal. Your basically looking to run the equivalent of two 4k monitors above 80FPS ideally, the more GPU you can throw at this the better.

I would consider AMD cards here, they have always performed better when your scaling up resolution. Although you do miss out on the G-Sync capabilities of the Swift.
Well, that's 11 million pixels per frame, aiming for 144 fps... you're aiming for well over a billion pixels a second.

I don't think even 2 GTX 980s will manage that on demanding games with high settings. But it'll run just fine and you can always find a nice balance between lowering detail for higher frame rates, or vice versa.

But 144fps across 3 1440p screen I don't think will happen often.
