Hello Guys,

I am using following configured computer,

Processor : AMD FX 6300
Mobo : MSI 970A - G46
Graphics Card : Sapphire R9 270x with OC Boost 2GB DDR5
RAM : Corsair Vengeance DDR3 8 GB

CPU Temp is normally around 40 c & when i play games it goes around 50 c. Is it normal?

When i play games at ultra settings, CPU fan's sound is very high.

So i have 2 question,

1. Is CPU temp is normal?
2. What need to be done to reduce the sound of the CPU Fan/ Heat Sync?

Thanks in advance !!

40C idle? that seems a bit high 50C though isn't that high and should be fine. For lowering temps you can make sure your system is clean (dusted with an compressed aircan be sure to keep it upright when using it). Besides that make sure the sidepanels are on your case and that the airflow comes from the front of the case and blows out the back. All fans should be set so that the air blows towards the top rear of the case otherwise you will get stagnate air hotspots.

Besides that your last option for reducing sound is replacing the Heatsink and fan with a nonstock solution like the hyper tx3 or 212 evo from Coolermaster.

Were on the same situation here. Check your fan speeds if your fans are spinning at 5000+ rpm as mine are. At those temps its not normal for it to be spinning so fast. If your bios has cpu fan speed controller setup a profile make it spin to at least 2000 rpm. But usually no matter what fan profile i set it still runs full speed all the time for me.Im gonna replace for a 212 evo or something.Stock fan sounds like my sister blow drying her hair.

If 40 C is not idle then what is normal temp?

Thanks i will check today. Do you know what is the idle Temp for CPU & Idle RPM for CPU Fan?

Cooler Master Hyper tx3 is in budget will buy in next month. But does it support AM3+ Socket CPUs?

Yes it does along with a bunch of other sockets you can see the supported sockets on Cooler Master's site -> http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/cpu-air-cooler/hyper-tx3/

Thanks a lot guys. I ordered everything online and assembled at my home. So bit worried about speed and temps. I will get a better cooler and will check. Hope it will work.

If i have to overclock in future? Does this mobo + cpu is good enough? I head it has poor thermal design. :(
