I recently purchased a second hand graphics card to upgrade from my Intel Graphics, however when I plug it all in nothing is displayed on the monitor, the card itself work because the fans spin.

I've never done much with upgrading computers so I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or my computer just isn't good enough, I've bought 2x 6 pin to 4 pin cables and I assume I plugged them in correctly. These are my specs - http://speccy.piriform.com/results/BbWpWRUBPPKEHpDcgw8xfbf

Money is tight so any purchases must be a necessity and not too expensive. Thanks for any help.

You need to go into your BIOS and set the motherboard to use PCIe graphics first. When you turn it on hit delete until you get into the BIOS. Sometimes the bios will detect the graphics card and change the display over to the PCIe so you can do it without removing the card. Find the option for primary graphics. It will be somewhere in the BIOS. All boards are different.

If the BIOS doesnt use the card automatically, turn the PC off. Take the card out and hook your monitor back up to the integrated port again. Turn it on and go into the BIOS and set the option to use PCIe. Save and Exit from the bios. when it starts to boot again turn it off and re-install the card and you should be good to go.
