Will a intel i7-4790k be better than a AMD FX4130, and will i notice the difference? [Solved]

Will i see significant improvments with the i7-4790k than my AMD-4130?

I understand the i5 and i7 arguments but if i have the money should i just go for the i7-4790K @4ghz?

Yes the Intel CPU will perform much better than the amd processor. The i7-4790k will out perform the AMD 8 cores, all of them.

Just remember swapping from AMD to Intel requires a motherboard change as well.

I have a motherboard in minds aswell, the CPU lists says its supports that processor.

Even a i5 would be much better.

Bear in mind that you will only see the improvements if the CPU is your performance bottleneck. If you have a low end graphics card then you may see no improvement at all in many games.

That board will be fine. It has all the basics for an OCing board, for the future, with the ability for multi-GPU gaming.

Ah ok, I misinterpreted your answer. Anyways i have decided to go for the i7 thank you guys for your help and clarification on this matter.

The Core i7 4790K will be a huge waste of money if you don't get a better graphics card to go with it. It will game just the same on a cheaper Core i5.

Well it's too late I alread bought it for £200 (used Amazon vouchers I got), anyways I'm slowly updating it all eventually.

Yup, many of us just slowly, but constantly, update our PC's to stay somewhat current. Many forget that we use our machines for more than just gaming. I know I do even having 2 other PC's in my home. I just like the speed and the "I want it now" syndrome.

Haha yer same here I'm always updating when I have the money, the only reason I went for the higher CPU I because I had money off. And I use my machine for everything not just gaming as many do forget.
