I installed the CX600 PSU into my working computer and it seems not to do anything. I just have a steady amber light no other activity at all. I have tested the PSU with a paperclip and case fan and it worked well. The fan also switched on. But when I connect it to my motherboard all I get is a steady AMBER light.
Have tried disconnecting all the components and connecting only the 24pin plug and 4 pin ATX connector, still same result. Have also tried interchanging the ATX connectors but same result.
All my connections are secure and all my components are working as this was a working computer and I'm just upgrading the PSU.
system spec is:
Dell Vostro 220
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8500
Motherboard: Dell P301D
WIndows 8.1
Ram: 4GB DDR2
HDD: 2 (1 x seagate baracuda 1tb & 1 x WD Velociraptor 74gb)
