Hello,

So i been running with this PC for a while now and everytime i close a game or want to browse the internet the pc is so slow. I reinstalled windows 7 several times. Tried Ultimate x64 and Professional x64. The PC is also overclocked from 3.4Ghz to 3.7GHz.

Parts:
CPU: AMD Phenom ii x4 965 Black edition @ 3,7GHz
Mobo: Asus M4A87TD EVO
Ram: 2x 2GB Corsair Dominator 1600MHz
GPU: 2x Asus 4890 HD
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 300GB
Cooling: The PC got a really good cooling system keeping all components really cold even in games.
PSU: Corsair TX750 750W

I heard that i need to change Harddisk? is this right?
Thanks for the help!

Upgrading your HDD (hard disk) to a SSD (solid state drive) would help your performance considerably. It's the single best upgrade to a PC one can do.

However, if you've reformatted and it's running slower than it has before, then your existing HDD (hard disk) may be showing signs of failure.

If you do get a SSD, get at LEAST 120 Gb (recommend 240 Gb minimum) and install Windows and programs you frequently use. Save your existing HDD for storing videos, pictures, games you infrequently play.

you could definitely use with more ram. 4gb is like the barebones minimum these days. if you were to replace that hard drive with a solid state drive then you would be blown away with how responsive the computer is. its still a pretty capable gaming machine. if i were you i would definitely upgrade to a 120gb ssd at minimum and then use your seagate drive as storage. another 4gb of memory would also help. seems like an older hard drive so it may be on its way out too.

+1, more RAM would help a lot otherwise you are HDD swapping all the time. The SSD would make the HDD swapping a bit faster but you still need more ram.

i think its the problem of ram. not because it is not enough but there is a service that is using up most of your ram/ physical memory . you can check the service in the service or processes tab in the task manager. remove it. i had the same problem with my win 7. the service's name was "windows media player file sharing network" . it was using up so much ram that if i add up the amount of memory taken by all the other services it wont reach the amount taken by the single service
