Hi,

I'll try to keep it it as direct information as possible.
First off, as the title says if my FPS drops in games after a short while and then the GPU usage climbs to 99-100%. The FPS would go from a stable 60 (V-Sync) to 30-40ish and even lower for longer playtime.

I have following setup:

Core i5 3570K
Gigabyte GTX 670
Corsair TX650
Asus Sabertooth p67 (with latest bios)
Corsair Vengeance 2x4gb 1866 mhz
Windows7

I run the games in resolution 1680x1050.

I should start out to say that I used a Core i5 2500k that did not have any problems with the FPS drops BUT every now and then my computer would freeze(no blue screen) and I would have to hit the power button. This would happen maybe 5 times a day and maybe once a week. There was no pattern in the freeze otherwise mostly in games.

Then I tried with the Core i5 to see if this would help and solve the problem but now I can't play for more than 3-5 mins before the fps drops.

I suspect that maybe the CPU is the problem but then again the motherboard should have no problem with the 3570k nor should the rest of the setup.

The system has run really well with the previous setup except the freeze which also was
frustrating and therefore I tried the 3570k.

I am getting really frustrated about this and would really like some help to locate the problem.

Please let my know if you need any other information.

Best Regards

Kasper

try disabling process in the background by using razer game booster or doing it manually from task manager, cause some process that you dont use or need are working in the background while your playing which can but a lot of load cpu and gpu (personal exprience with bf hardline)
get windows 8 i had windows 7 and ran bf4 on low at 1440x900 and only got 32 fps i upgraded to windows 8 then windows 8.1 and i run bf4 at 1440x900 withultra textures mesh (the stuff that does not use a lot of gpu) and i get 55fps never dips below 35fps

Windows 8 or 8.1 is not an option.

The FPS drops over short time of games. I guess it feels like overheating, however the GPU is 55 celsius but the usage is 100% untill I guit the game.
