Hello everyone,I am thinking about switching my R9 290 with a GTX 970 and i was thinking will my Intel 2500K bottleneck my new GPU even if i keep the CPU at stock GHz?Also i want to stay like this for at least 2 years without changing anything *i am out of money* will i be good with no bottleneck and a stable FPS in most upcoming games? Thanks in advance.

Hmmmmm.... You will not see an bottleneck though I do suggest overclocking anyway. I recommend using a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo to cool your cpu when overclocking if you haven't already got an aftermarket cooler. It supports your cpu, is relatively cheap, it is silent and cools like beast.

Thanks everyone for your replies,Good to hear my 2500K is still capable of running modern GPU with no problems so from now ill start saving for a cooler that Cooler Master Hyper sounds like a perfect choice ill work on getting one.
Thanks again everyone,Have a nice day.

The 2500k is one of the all time greats IMO, has huge overclocking potential. 4.4-4.5Ghz should be doable on a 212 evo.
