Hi, I just finished building my computer but I am having problems connecting it to the internet. I am using a TP-LINK TL-WN821N 300mbps usb modem thing but I lost the cd so I got the drivers off the internet and transferred it onto the self-built computer via usb. So the drivers are installed but it still isn't recognising my tp link and when I go to connect to internet, in control panel, the only option is Broadband (PPPoE)

When you load the driver install program with the usb wifi adapter pluged in, does it not recognize the device is there?
You wont setup anything in the control panel for that.
When installed correclty you would just go to the wifi icon on the bottom and connect to a wifi network.

Did you try using the rear usb ports as well as the front ports? Do other devices like usb drives work in those ports?
If the usb ports is good and the driver cd cant find the stick to finish installing the drivers then the usb adapter is defective.

Extract what you downloaded then update the drivers thru device manager...
Point it to the folder with the drivers in it. Just make sure you select the right folder (with the inf file in it). 64 bit if you use 64 bit. 32 bit / x86 if you use 32 bit

Did you get the drivers from the TP-link site? And did you get the right drivers??
There's 4 versions. Whats yours?? It'll say V1 V2 V3 or V4 on it
