Buying a new case - which fans should I buy, and how about the setup?

Hi,

TL;DR at the bottom!

My rig:

Motherboard: ASUS P8-Z77-V Deluxe
CPU: Intel 3770k 3.50GHz (Stock Cooler)
RAM: 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz
GPU: ASUS GTX 970 4GB STRIX
Storage: 1x120GB Corsair SSD Force Series 3 + 1x240GB Corsair SSD Force Series 3
PSU: Corsair HX1000 80+ Silver
Case: CM Storm Trooper

I've been pretty unlucky with my case since I bought it. Both feet in the back has broken off, there's some scratching on the left side and some plastic has broken of one of the dust filters. It happened while going to several LAN parties, because my dad weren't careful enough with my case.

Now, several of my friends have gotten new computers, and they all feature a case with glass in it, which I genuinely like. And I was looking at some cases the other day, which got me into thinking of getting a new case. In my old case, I have all of the fans that was included with the case, but with the new one, I would like to buy some high quality ones from Corsair and set them up instead.

But there's a little problem. Down the road when Broadwell and Skylake CPU's arrive, I'll be changing to one of those CPU's and change MOBO. I will also buy a Corsair H110 for the new CPU, for which I will OC.

I just don't know where I should place the fans.

This is what the Corsair Obsidian 750d supports:

Front: (x2) 120/140mm
Top: (x3) 120mm or (x2) 140mm
Rear: 120/140mm
Bottom: (x2) 120mm

Should I set it up like this?

Front: Corsair H110 (Intake)
Top: 2x140mm (Exhaust)
Rear: 1x120 (Exhaust)
Bottom: 2x120mm (Intake)

I don't know if I should place the Corsair at the top instead as an exhaust, but that does not cool the CPU as much as if it were an intake, but I dont think that the tubes is long enough to go from the CPU to the front. And Negative Pressure vs Positive Pressure?

TL;DR: Buying new case, don't know where to put new fans, which fans (from Corsair) should I consider buying?

I personally wouldnt buy Corsair fans. They came on my H100i and I had to replace them because they were so loud. If you want top quality fans you should be looking at Noctua, they are pricey but they are also top of the line, quiet and come with a 6 year warranty. As far as your H110 goes I would suggest not going that route and instead buying one of Noctua's CPU coolers like the D14 or D15, they are not only cheaper but will be more quiet and reliable without the worry of leaking in the case. As far as fan set up goes, use 140mm fans (Noctua A14 PWMs) you will want a positive air pressure (more intake fans than out take) so less dust settles in your system. I would honestly set up all of the fan mounts to intake except for the rear mount which should be your exhaust fan.

I will go with the positive air pressure, but... The Noctua D15 just looks so awful compared to the Corsair one! :( I'm getting a case with glas on the side; then I shouldn't get a cooler which isn't visually appealing imo. I do agree that the D15 is cheaper, more effective (as it does not occupy the top fans) and is quieter. I just don't get why you would build a fan thats brown! Is Noctua really the best ones to get? Or does Corsair have a CPU fan cooler alternative?

Noctua does have a few different colors now for case fans but dont think they have changed the colors of the heatsink fans. I dont mind the brown color of the fans because you know exactly what they are when you see them and know they are quality! All of their products have a 6 year warranty, and awesome customer service, if that doesnt scream quality I dont know what does

Drockinwv is actually, uh, wrong. There is absolutely nothing wrong with corsair fans (the AF and SP series), except the stock fans that come with their coolers are not SP or AF, they are shitty and loud as he says, but the corsair fans you buy separately are nice and quiet.
