Which screen is the better choice for gaming?

if its really for gaming then the BenQ is the better option of the two. It has a higher refresh rate and lower response time, so games can display more frames per second if you have the hardware to back it up. This means the game will run a lot smoother, and animations in general will be silky smooth. The other monitor will look better in terms of color and sharpness, but wont be as responsive for gaming. Its also got a higher resolution so you would need some pretty powerful hardware to drive it for games at its native resolution

Dual Link DVI, HDMI, and Display Port are all digital, so they will provide the best signal as opposed to VGA. Digital cables mean the signal is either sent or not sent, so buying a $50 HDMI monster cable wont produce any better visuals over a $5 generic HDMI cable, they will all send the same quality signal which is up to 1440p at 60hz. The monitor comes with a dual link DVI and HDMI cable, so as long as your graphics card has one of those ports it will be just fine.

Just a reminder that this screen has a very high resolution, so newer games might be a little harder to run at the native resolution, depending on your hardware.

EDIT: I just read your signature, the GTX 970 will do just fine for most games.
