Built my new pc last night. Started her up and the fans spin, liquid cooler goes, video card fans spin, and a light on the motherboard lights up but no video or post beeps.

So here comes the nightmare. I take ram out switch it around, unplug hdd and disc, take video card out still not one beep.

I looked at the cpu socket and there was a bent pin so I fixed it gently, in the process got thermal paste on the back of the cpu. So I cleaned the little spot with rubbing alch.

After reputting everything back in, still the same thing, no beeps. Can a PSU be doing this even tho I'm getting g the power? Or cpu, mobo dead? Help please!

Sounds like something's DOA. I'm thinking either RAM or mobo, and the fact that you already tested your RAM out somewhat and that you had to mess around with the CPU pins has me leaning towards mobo.

I tried a lot of the troubleshooting guide. And nothing. Even with most of the motherboard getting power ya think that's it?

The only thing I may have messed up was the little pin connectors on the bottom, but led and hdd lights etc. But I feel like that's not it.

Yup, we'll. I have to use 2 four for the 8 pin.
On the power supply there was a little 3 pin for it connected to the 24pin that I plugged in with it. It's like voltage control or something

Never heard of such 3 pin thing with the connector

It's a full modular design, I've never seen it before ether. Maybe I can unhook it and give it a shot.

There is a sticker on the BIOS chip usually with the BIOS version and may even be on the box.
Checked on that 3 pin on the www and it is to monitor voltages at the connector, gimmick since it is done inside on the rails and will not have any measurable drop in that short cable.

How can I find that out without the ability for it to turn on?

So I guess tomorrow I'll try a different power supply from somewhere, if that doesn't work I'll call to get my mobo replaced. If that doesn't work maybe it's the cpu

Yeah the on board doesn't work ether
