I have accidentally formatted my laptop hard disk while installing OS. Is there any chance to retrieve the data. They are my work related data which are very important. Please help me with this.
Thanks in advance.

You are pretty much limited to data retrieval services here. If you did a quick format all it did was pretty much erase all the headers, the data is still most likely there, it just doesn't have a (name) associated with it.

Sadly this is often expensive, but if the files are that important, look in your yellow pages for data retrieval purposes.

if the info is that important try not to use that laptop until you find a solution or give up any and all data that is written to the drive could wipe what potentially could be saved.

You ?might? be able to use a program like recuva but if possible 1) any undelete program (probaly will not work in this case but might) run from a usb drive (preferably downloaded and installed onto usb from different machine) and 2) reover any files to a differnt source (another drive, usb drive, usb stick, etc) but not the same as the drive with the files

you can even go to a site called portableapps and get a file recovery put on a usb stick that will load and look like a windows type access, but remember any usage of the drive (even for temp files, page swap, etc) could overwrite data.

as Brighttail says, if that important look for a data recovery service
