First off, system specs: Windows 7 64 bit, 2.67 GHz

I have an older Alienware computer I was given as a graduation gift (late 2009 model). I'm trying to upgrade the graphics card from a Radeon 5760 to an R9 290X. I've uninstalled the driver and installed the newer drivers, but when I plug the graphics card in and connect the power, the monitor that's connected to the graphics card doesn't turn on. Also, the graphics card doesn't appear anywhere on Windows (Device Manager or in the Catalyst control center)

A few more details, I'm running dual graphics cards -- I've tried taking both out and putting only the new one in, but when I do this, the computer doesn't boot past POST and beeps six times. I'll probably be running dual graphics cards until I get this problem figured out, afterwards, I'll just be running the single graphics card. Also, I'm running Windows 7, so the booting in legacy mode option doesn't seem to be available to me.

Also, in case you need to know, my power supply is 875 W.

I'd appreciate any and all advice you guys have. Thanks so much

According to Dells website http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/SLN114868/en
6 beeps is a Video Card failure which can mean a whole range of things from:
- Card is not compatible
- Card is under powered
- PCI-E slot has an issue
- Card not seated right
Ect ect ect.

If it is only happening when you have one card in and not two, is there some place in the BIOS you have set it to SLI? I'm unfamiliar with the Dell BiOS, but many boards you have to select SLI in the BIOS and if it is selected a single card may not work.
