Hi everyone

I have a dumb question - I'm looking to change to an X99-based system, with an Asus X99 Deluxe motherboard. However, I'm also thinking of getting 2 Zotac GTX 980 Amp! Extreme Edition cards to run in Sli.

My question is - given the thickness of this card, would there be enough vertical room on the motherboard to run both cards? The Sli pictures I've seen online tend to involve the reference GTX980 models which are thinner because they do not have the customer coolers.

A related question is, given the choice, would you pick the (a) Zotac GTX 980 Amp! Extreme Edition or (b) Inno3D iChill GTX 980 HerculeZ X4 Air Boss Ultra? I've been using an Inno3D iChill GTX780 and it's been good, but the spects on this Zotac card is better than Inno3D's Air Boss Ultra.

Thank you in advance for any guidance.

Yes, if you go to the ASUS website, you will see that with two boards you will have two connectors between the two connectors with the graphics cards in them. You could also use the X99-A motherboard too like this.
