Seeing that 4k is becoming a bit more standard. 1080p is becoming more of a minimum. So I was wondering when PC devs are probably going to have 1080p as the minimum resolution? Rather than 720p or 800x600 or 1366x768 or 1600x900

To add up on what i7baby said, where did you see 4k becoming more of a standard? If we're strictly talking about videogames, 4k is still a relatively uncharted territory, as its usage is usually a bumpy ride.

4k TVs and monitors are only worth it for exotic configurations or "trend-following" mechanics right now (what's the purpose of getting a 4k display if the majority of paid broadcasts are at 1080p? Unless, for some unknown and weird reason, you love blurry/pixelated pictures or got the hardware to sustain gaming at those resolutions :)).

Hey, the main thing is aspect ratio. Which is 16:9. Even if game is going to be produced on 1080p resolution u can turn it down to 720p. And untill these slow consoles are in our midst , games will be produced on 720p,900p,1080p.

I was curious honestly. I have capable hardware its just a matter of what resources are used and how it works rendering it at different resolutions and being able to switch them and if it's a cake walk to render it for the devs or a redundant waste of time.
