hey,

so im struggling with a crashing computer for over 6 months now, so like i said allready, i am getting really desperate and i want to fix this.

What Happens When I Crash.

the screen freezes, the first month i had the crashes i got like brown screens, green screens, etc.
but thats a long time ago, now it just freezes.
sometimes the sound off the game keeps repeating.

When do my PC crashes

its mostly at the "higher end" games like Battlefield 4, Bad Company 2, DayZ, Etc,...
BUT, it never crashes when im playing League of Legends, like literally it never happened.
and i play League of Legends the most.
my temps are normal when i crash. around 60-70°C for GPU and 45-52°C for CPU

What are my PC specs:

CPU
: i7 4770 (cooled with Hyper Evo 212)
GPU: GTX 770
MOBO: Asus z87-K
PSU: Corsair CX750M
DRAM: 2 x 4Gb Corsair Vengeance 2133 Mhz DDR3
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB

What have i done allready to identify the problem

i have ran 3D Mark's FireStrike Benchmark multiple times, together at the same time with other benchmarks and never had a problem.

also i have ran MemTest on my previous sticks but never had a problem. i didnt run it on these cause i literallty have these since yesterday. cause i thought the problem from crashing was my sticks. but i crash again now so yeah...

also 3 days ago i reinstalled windows on my PC so no "faulty" programs, of course i have installed all up-to-date drivers.

Iff u need any other info from CPU-Z or RivaTuner or any other program, screenshots from BIOS. ETC:... ASK ME PLZ.
i will provide u the info u need to fix this problem,

like i said multiple times, i am desperate so i would love u my entire life iff u know how to fix this. :)

Solution
I would probably try replacing the PSU first, or returning it to corsair, because that series is known to be problematic.

It could be either the PSU or motherboard.
make sure the asus bios on the mb up to date. in the bios make sure the bios is set to standard mode speed not performace mode it changes the ram to cpu speed. in the bios try setting the ram to 1600 speed and see if it stable.
the last part would be a power supply that not holding under load to stay withing atx spec. if you can see if someone has another unit you can use for testing.

The brown and green screen freezes are symptomatic of a graphics card failing. Maybe it isn't receiving voltages properly at full load (or not enough) or the motherboard may be going bad. Or simply the gpu itself needs to be sent in under warranty. Can you test the gpu in a friend's PC to see if problems persist?

Are you using HDMI and have you tried new cables ?

ok this are alot of questions.

i am using DVI and the cables are fine.

i can try to get a friends GPU to test yes

also BIOS settings are Standard/normal.
i have a XMP on my DRAM so thats fine allready.

Although, your CPU and GPU seem to be OK on temps, the voltage regulators on the motherboard could be overheating. Maybe try a few hours of Memtest -- make sure it is running multi-threaded. That will put a good load on the CPU/motherboard. It will break up the CPU/GPU equation.

There are no easy ways to test a mobo, you would have to borow one compatible with your system and try it, but you should test GPU and PSU first cause they are easier to install and uninstall.

If the GPU is overclocked, back it off. If it's factory overclocked, you may be able to manually underclock it using GPU software. If you are able to maintain stability at a lower clock, it's time to RMA the card. Having your friend try it as someone else suggested is a great idea.

Separately, try 1 RAM stick by itself, then the other RAM stick by itself. This would identify potential bad stick of RAM or bad RAM slot.

You might also try to back off the RAM clock. Try 1.5V and CL 10/11 timings at DDR 1600. Make sure the RAM is in the correct slots (usually 1 and 3 or 2 and 4).

As someone else mentioned, the PSU would be another possibility, which is hard to tell unless you have a voltage meter. Frequent crashes or reboots can be a result of dirty power. Do you live in an old house, are you sure your wall outlet is giving the correct amount of clean power?

Another electrical related possibility is if your motherboard is grounding out on anything metal touching the back of the motherboard such as a motherboard standoff or screw. I am thinking this is not the case, as you crash under load exclusively.

All things considered, I would lean towards a GPU or RAM issues considering it mostly happens under load. Any artifacting or strange colors are a sure tell sign of bad GPU.

Last thought, is your BCLK at 100 in BIOS? What version of BIOS are you running? Make sure you aren't overclocking your HDD or other system components. Once you figure out what version of BIOS you are running, you might google known issues with your BIOS version before trying to reflash.

As a matter of fact you might just go into BIOS and "Restore Default settings" to make sure there isn't a setting off somewhere - it couldn't hurt to try!

thanks for respond Adroid.

but as far as is know im not overclocking anything. but my GPU is Asus GTX770-DC2OC-2GD5 wich is overclocked in factory i think?
i could try the default settings in BIOS.

also my BIOS version is 1402 so its newest.

BCLK is at 100:100 indeed

and im not overclocking my CPU

ok guys,
so i tried another GPU in my system and i still crashed.
faulty GPU is not the problem. but i didnt try another PSU.

i did have a CX500M before i had the CX750M that i have now. and i was crashing at that time also.
thats why i thought that the 500W wasnt providing enough voltage to my system.

but i am pretty sure that it is the PSU that is faulty, cause i only crash under heavy load. iff it was a mobo problem then i should crash at everyday tasks also. or am i wrong?

i would like your opinion on this.

could be the PSU or the mobo if a cap went bad or something.
