Hi,
I recently upgraded my Office 2007 (32bit) installation to Office 2013 (64bit). Foolishly, I forgot to backup the .pst before beginning the upgrade. When the upgrade was complete I opened Outlook and found all the mail in place but NOT the folders created in the inbox. I searched around in my PC and found an archive.pst but the folders weren't in there either. MS say that even after uninstalling Outlook the .pst is not deleted...
Have I lost these folders for good, or is there any hope in restoring them?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

are you using the original PST or did Outlook just go retrieve your mail again from external server?
For Windows 7 the pst should be called outlook.pst unless you changed it and located at
C:\Users\Specific User\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook

Hi Thent

I didn't touch the .pst.
Outlook may have simply retrieved my mail from the mail server, that is possible but I don't think its the case.

The thing is that after installing the newer version of Office the email account was already configured on Outlook.
When I opened Outlook for the first time (right after install) it opened completely configured with account and messages already in their respective folders, inbox, sent etc. . There was no retrieving mail or any action on the status bar, it was just there!

I found this at ms office forum:
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2007-outlook/will-uninstallreinstall-of-office-2007/68ea2a3e-ff77-4e42-b496-9c249c392fbe

They insist that the pst is not removed, even after uninstall.

Thanks for the help!
