On amazon it says my browser will no longer be supported as of 1st Nov due to security issues, and that I should upgrade my browser. I've got windows 8 on a Samsung notebook. I'm not sure what browser my laptop came with. What do people out there suggest? Thanks.

it means the version of the browser is old .. and you computer came with internet explorer here is the update http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/ie-11-worldwide-languages
just download it and run the installer and you will be good to go
alternately you can get mozilla firefox,opera ,safari or googlechrome browser ..

Thanks for the replies. I can still access amazon, so I've checked to see which browser I have and it tells me it's up to date. I'm not sure why I saw this message on amazon. Maybe it was a general warning for everyone in case they needed to update. I'm not sure, but it looks as if I don't need to update mine after all.
