Hello I just got a new internet package which required purchasing a new modem/router. I logged in using ethernet to configure for wireless. That was no problem. I disconnected the ethernet from the router and PC in order to test the wifi. It worked fine.

However the problem is that when I move the router to the place in the house where it needs to be to reach a phone line, I can still connect with wifi but I can't seem to log in to the router configuration.

After a bit of testing I found it only happens after I unplug the modem for any period of time. I did just to move it. I solved to issue by finding a really long ethernet cord so I can keep the modem in the same place. But I know this should not be happening either way so anyone who can help please do. Thanks

P.S. Just to clarify, the ONLY time I can log in to the configuration using wifi is if I connect with wifi after connecting with ethernet. If I connect with ethernet then unplug power down for a second to move the modem i can no longer connect with wifi to the configuration page. But I can connect to the modem in general still that way.
I hope this is easy to understand. Hard to tell.

Thanks

P.S.S. Almost forgot to mention the modem. It's a Smartrg sr505n
