Can I use a stand alone mic and headset together?

Sorry If this is a stupid question. I'm planing on getting the blue yetti mic for gameplay commentary and etc but I wanted to also have a headset for the output sound from the computer whenever I'm playing my games. Also, I'm planing on using the set up for shadowplay.

You should be able to use headphones and a standalone mic together. The headset would just act like your speakers and the mic is, well, a mic.

I use a setup like this sometimes with my ATH M50's and a Samson Go Mic. Works the same with my speakers. You can also select live monitoring via Windows, if you need to.
