Start>Run>Enter msconfig>Services. How do I remove an item permanently? I removed an item, rebooted and it reappeared.

Attempting to remove "iolo FileInfoList System" blocking upgrade of a virus protection system. I went to Start>Run>Enter msconfig>Services. Item is listed. I removed and rebooted. It reappeared.

Alppreciate solution.

If has other accompanying applications then, it will eventually restart at bootup.

You need to Uninstall the program associated with it or disable its startup in msconfig

try Start->Run->Enter services.msc look for that service, double click on it and then from the dropdown menu select "disable"

The service itself will remain listed but won't get enabled again by it's own.
