I bought Call of Duty - Black ops II recently for my ps3 console. When I put the disc into the ps3 ( I have ps3 slim ) , it starts the game up as normal. However, after the first cinematic scene ( Like the very first one) , it shows up " judgement day" on the bottom left hand corner and after that a black screen shows up. Like it basically freezes. Note , that the ps3 doesn't freeze but the game simply refuses to continue? I can still go onto the menu in Ps3 and quit the game. Note also that, this doesn't happen with any other of my games that I've seen. Only Black ops II , which I've recently bought. I haven't even got to the menu of the game, where to select Multiplayer or zombies or anything. Just freezes after the cinematic scene. Any suggestions why? And solutions?

When you say defective disk, that would of course include the possibility of it being scratched yes? Because, I got the game from CEX shop. This basically means it's pre-owned. There aren't too many scratches on it. But would you say it is the reason?

More like probably a bad disc when they were pressing them in the factory. If its a used disc, could be scratches but the blu-ray players are supposed to be able to read discs with scratches on them.
Could also try getting a can of compressed air and giving your PS3 a few puffs. Maybe there could be dust on the laser.
