Hello,

I recently bought an EVGA 600W Power supply for my PC system unit. My new PSU has a 20+ 4P power connector but on my motherboard has a 12 pin power connector slot. Did I buy the wrong power supply for my system unit? Please help, much appreciated.

That beep noise is normal. Some systems do it, some don't. Generally a single sharp beep means everything is ok, so long as it continues to boot following the beep, and it's not multiple or long beeps, it should be no issue. And 500w is what the GTX 760 calls for so it should be fine. I'd just return the other unit.
Yep, that's proprietary. Acer, Dell and HP and possibly ASUS all used them on some models for a while there. Newegg has a few, but you have to transfer the cord from the old unit. Don't know if that will work. Depends on whether yours has soldered connections inside or if they're bolted to the terminals. Also whether or not you're a competent electrician. Heh. Might be able to find you one, I'll look around. What is the capacity of the unit you need? You're going to have to return the one you have, unfortunately. Either that, or get a different motherboard, case and CPU.

Darkbreeze means that you could tear the psu down and remove the connector but they you will have to work out where to resolder it for yourself. I wouldn't suggest doing that unless you are an electrician/ Basically you will need a new case, cpu and mobo or keep the psu you have. Why do you need a new psu anyway, are you upgrading your system?

Yes this is the exact one I have in the computer, but the computer makes a sharp beep noise when I boot it up.
